    Digital Nomad Mum

My name is Valerie, aged 53 and I have officially been a digital nomad mum since 2021 but I have been travelling, studying, working and living abroad since my twenties. I am originally French but have had a residency in the UK since 1994. I speak 3 languages fluently. We are currently staying in Costa Rica as perpetual tourists but in the process of applying for a 1 year Digital Nomad Family Visa.

UPDATE: Our Costa Rica Digital Nomad Visa is finally approved. For more details, start here: https://digitalnomadmum.com/costa-rica-digital-nomad-visa/

This has been possible because of the journey it took to get there. It started in 2009 when I quit a my stressful corporate job due to burnout. I became a mum working fully from home and build a health & wellness business. I became a constant learner and creating multiple opportunities to make money online for the past 10+ years.

I visited Costa Rica in 2018 for just 1 week long training and totally fell in love. From then on, I researched & plan the move for the whole family which took place in October 2021. 18 months of lockdown allowed my husband to become a remove worker and keep his existing job for a UK company. My eldest daughter had just completed her A-Levels, had been accepted at her first choice university for a place to start after taking a gap year. My younger daughter was already 4 years in her homeschool, so it didn’t make much difference for her. Our rescued pet dog Patchie was joining the adventure, no question asked!!!
